Spring's not going out without a fight, but there's still plenty of trouble to find this weekend rain or shine. We're doing a little bit of spring cleaning at WLA headquarters this weekend and need to unload some Perks cards. Take advantage, this weekend only, we'll take 50% off the first 50 Perks cards ordered using the promo code SPRING50 in the WLA Store.

There's a gameshow taping in Astoria next week. Pyramid, the Dick Clark classic has invited WLA to join the studio audience. Grab your seat now as the tapings are nearly full. Also, we have one more Exit 44 Festival ticket to give away if you correctly answer the trivia question in the editorial below.

Hey, yo! I'm Ridin' Here!
Tonight, Transportation Alternatives will be hosting their monthly "Bike-Pool" (a herd of bikers riding at an extremely slow pace in protest of not having a bike lane on The Boulevard of Death, Queens Blvd). If you're a rider, show up w/ your wheels and helmet and they'll outfit you with a bright orange "Share the Road" vest. Afterwards, celebrate not dying with an afterparty at Five Guys of Glendale.

Free Food & Wine
Off the Vine has teamed up with Les Minots Bistro to offer a free wine tasting paired with delicious h'or dourves. Tonight, they'll be focusing on wines of Portugal.

Potencia!
If grabbing a flashy, new Facebook username isn't high on your priority list, check out the return of the Brazilian loft dance party, Potencia!, and shake it til it can't shake no mo. You've heard about these power parties before, and probably have even still heard them booming on your way to work, so stop by, check it out and have a night to remember. $8 cover, but free vodka from 11-12a.
Show your Perks card and get in for free before midnight ($5 after).

The Easiest Charity Event EVER
After Saturday brunch, enjoy the return of our friend, the sun, by taking a very important walk through Astoria Park. The Hanson brothers (yes) have started a charity that will give a dollar for every person who shows up to walk a mile at these events. The money will then be used to fight the growing HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. Specifically, in Astoria, our WLA attendees' proceeds will be put toward building new schools in Africa. It's going to be a beautiful day, so please, please stop by and walk off that omelette.

Major Rock Bands Play Astoria
If you've run into team WLA lately, you've probably heard us raving about the Exit 44 Festival that's happening this weekend in Astoria. It features eight bands from all over NYC and several local food vendors. After making a huge splash at SXSW this year, Tigercity and Project Jenny, Project Jan are taking over Astoria. Tickets are only $10 in advance and will sell out. WLA will have a booth with discounted Astoria tshirts, so stop by to say hello.

Yummy, Yummy BBQ Deliciousness
Get this shiz, Sunday morning, we need you to leave Astoria. Crazy right? It's time for the Big Apple BBQ--our own religious holiday. Go early, beat the lines. Get more info and some tips from the pros on the WLA Blog. Unrelated to BBQ, the first to reply via email the correct time and location of the Exit 44 Festival wins a free ticket.

Suzy Sunday
On your way home, stop by Winegasm for some red grapes to wash down the BBQ. The Astoria Music Project will be featuring WLA's Suzy Sellout this week as she unveils some of her latest tracks as well as some smooth jazz standards we all love. Her sounds are reminscent of both Tori Amos and Feist fighting over the ivories of a shiny, new baby grand. There IS no better way to wrap up a memorable weekend. Show your Perks and get your second drink free.
