Tax season is in full swing. If you still haven't prepared your taxes, we strongly recommend NYC Tax Guys. They've been doing our small business and personal taxes for three years. Give them a call to arrange an appointment today at (347) 248-2195.
FRIDAY 56° sunny
Astoria Park Wine & Spirits will be having a free New World vs. Old World wine taste-off.
The Queens Kickshaw turns one this weekend. Stop by to wish them well and celebrate the biggest borough opening of the year. They have live music scheduled all weekend and be sure to try some of their locally-brewed Kombucha Ale.
SATURDAY 49° showers
Learn the in's and out's of LinkedIn at this free LinkedIn Career Workshop. There's also an interview prep session after the workshop. Couldn't hurt.
Wouldn't the world be a better place if more people broke into dance like in the final scene of Slumdog Millionaire. Learn how to Jai Ho at this Bollywood Dance Workshop.
The guys behind Chowbunga.com are throwing a Tapas House Party. A $20 ticket gets you (and a friend) into a houseparty with bottomless sangria and homemade Spanish-Greek tapas.
SUNDAY 58° few showers
There's a meetup on Sunday produced by GrubWithUs.com called Brunch in Astoria for Newbies to the Area. Kind of self-explanatory. If you're new to the area or looking to make some new friends, give it a try.
There's a fairly new Open Mic Night at a fairly new pub that features some fairly established local musicians. Should be a fairly awesome time.
This event has my attention. Conjuring Tonight is a dinner + MAGIC SHOW at one of our favorite new spots in town, The Astor Room. Anxious to see how well they grip their class as a bunny is pulled from a hat, but this place doesn't disappoint.

Comment by Ran Craycraft on March 30, 2012 at 1:22pm UPDATE FROM THE MAGIC MAN:
Guests visiting The Astor Room for drinks or dinner are invited to join me at a table we’ll have set for as long as they see fit -- 15, 20, 30 minutes -- for some classic close-up magic, and perhaps a little mindreading. We're looking to break away from the formal “dinner-show” concept and create an experience that’s casual, new, and truly unique to the area.
Also, and this is very important to mention, I’d like to assure you and your readers that I won’t be pulling any rabbits out of hats. I don’t even own a hat.
