A Lean, Green, Pollution-Fighting Elderly Home

Sending a message that one can "go green" at any age, dozens city and state officials cut the ceremonial ribbon yesterday at a brand spankin' new eco-friendly senior housing complex now open on Astoria Blvd.


The 15-floor, 183-room affordable housing high-rise replaces what used to be a municipal parking lot, and was built according to the strict "green communities" environmental standards.
