Dead Man Found Next to Blackbird's Bar in Astoria

A man was found dead Monday afternoon beneath a van parked next to Blackbird's Bar on 30th Avenue and 42nd Street. Neighbors were not able to identify the man who reportedly removed his shoes and laid down under the van as if to take a nap.

Collision in Astoria Kills Girl, 10
The weekend came to a screeching halt on Sunday night when a two car accident at the intersection of 31st St. and 34th Ave. took the life of 10-year-old, Sabrina Mangos of Tennyson, Australia. The family was visiting Astoria from Australia when their GMC mini-van was struck by a silver Nissan Sentra, tipping it onto its side, and crushing the little girl.
