Hey Jayne,
I'm signed up for the ride to Montauk. Its my third year doing the century ride. Its relatively flat. This ride is all about excess food and PIE.
LOL, yes as soon as I rounded that corner I was like WOW and stood up and started to weave my way through the field. I was disappointed at central park. I was so looking forward to the downhill sweeping left and right turns before we exited the park…
about the 5 boro tour.
even with the VIP starting spot which put me in a group of 500 bikers at the start line, I still had to pass 5 trillion people who cut in.as far as I could see down 6th ave was a sea of green vests. it was worse than riding in…
well bike thieves steal in broad daylight on busy streets. Its a lot easier to steal on a busy street than a quiet one.
and if its residential theft, probably targeting moms who walk to school to pick up kids leaving the house empty for a smash and…
your welcome! I ended up spending way more than I set out to for my bike but I do not regret it! I ride my baby every chance I get.
I should have started out by asking what are you riding now?
make sure to tell the salesman what you are riding

hey there
alas ... it's always fun to meet new dog folks - esp for hiking fun. we usually go to harriman or bear mtn or western CT for hiking ... i have a jeep so it's dog-hair and bike grease friendly and i'm craving the outdoors these days.
good luck with the shih-tzu - keep her away from the dog park, the fence is super loose and if she's a runner, she can be long gone pretty fast.
definitely more sport (please dont mention that "W" word again... ;o)
but the girls have fun names, the teams have themes, the games are fun and we dont take ourselves too seriously (although we practice very seriously)...
check out the 2008 Season Highlights (yours truly makes an appearance 30 seconds in and again at 1:10 taking out the jammer in yellow)...

yep - have a 9-yr old lab mix who came with me from TX - he's my bud and even my dog-walker agrees he's "the best"... we've been cooped-up all winter, so i'm looking forward to some nice park weather!
the dog run i know of is enclosed, so i'm not sure which one allison is referring to... but it's the perfect size for a shihtzu or other small dog, and i've always met nice people there... it's at the southwest corner of the park, on the water.
hi george:
the dog run is in the corner of the park - all the way at the end closest to the astoria towers, at what would be the end of hoyt ave and shore blvd. it can be kind of gross there - what kind of dog do you have? it makes me a bit nervous taking my dog there - too close to the road, too much opp for car disaster. with the weather improving, my beast and i will resume our wknd hiking adventures, if interested!
I have been getting the itch to get out and ride again, but it's still a little to cold for me. Yes, I'm a wimp I know.... :( Maybe by the end of March!
