Hello, I'm organizing a Pub Crawl which is located on the EVENTS page and I reached out to a lot of bars and restaurants (I was the marketing mgr. @ Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group) I learned various things in my research and have some great ideas that I'd like to look to implement. Hey guys, really love what you have done for Astoria.  Keep it up.

 

I am a chef caterer living and working in the neighborhood.  Currently working on articles and short videos around food, cooking and Astoria.  Would like to be involved in getting the word out about the great foods, culture and people of the area.  Can I contribute a story here or a link from my website?

I'm a photographer and writer by hobby living in Astoria. Professionally, I work in e-commerce and am a one man think tank when it comes to making my companies websites as user friendly as possible. I'd love to be a regular contributor. You can check my page to see that I've started up a blog, in which I'll regularly be posting photos from the neighborhood and probably be doing a lot of local restaurant reviews, as I am a restaurant-a-holic, especially regarding all of the spots in Astoria.

In order to help users familiarize themselves with (and aid in remembering) places on the list they haven't heard of, It would be helpful if the WLA Card discounts table could show:

1) the street address of the establishment
2) all entries in one page (optionally, by user pref)

3) Computed distance to destination from a current location
would be a "really neat", since you are already hooking into Google Maps, though you can pretty well judge that in your head with (1)

4) filtered lists (for when it gets bigger), by category, and distance

I'd offer to help, but 1, 2 & 4 would be pretty trivial for whomever is already familiar with the construction of the site. Even for 3, they could probably make quick work out of it given that they already have hooked in the maps themselves.
