The best kept secret in restaurant wine menu's is in our area - I can't tell you what that means or they will have to kill me (just kidding)

Well for buying wine, I particularly like Jolson's on 31 Street between Ditmars and 23rd Avenue - They are very helpful and have a temperature controlled back room with a lot of great choices at good prices for the higher end stuff

What's everyone's favorite wine spot in Astoria and why?

Thank you to everyone who made our first weekend serving wine a success!  We would like to invite all of the Astoria wine lovers out there to join us for New Year's Eve, when we will be offering a 6pm seating for $55 and an 8pm seating for $75.  To see the options included in our special prixe fix menu, click through to the event page: http://www.whyleaveastoria.com/xn/detail/2249951:Event:168677

Love this place! Very chill atmosphere for friends or dates. My friend just told me they have live music tonight. Should be cool.

I agree...great place to bring a friend or a date too. Maybe they change their wine list occasionally. Either way, Im not a big wine snob...I just go by experience on whether I like the taste or not. I tried an italian montenegro wine that was really rich and moody (great for a cold blustery night that it was) and then I had a spanish crianza, which was a nice followup. After that I finished up the night with a port....it was the pricier one on the list, but well worth it.

You are correct about crescent and vine in a way, but something I personally enjoy is that they have wines that are off the wall and not so 'commercial,' I grew up in the wine world and am a bit of a snob about it and I loved every recommendation I got there. Plus, it really is a nice chill atmosphere to go with a friend OR a date.

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE PLACE ON DITMARS I WAS THERE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO - NICE ATMOSPHERE BUT NOT MUCH OF A WINE SELECTION FOR ME
