Wandering Jews of Astoria’s Purim party is this Saturday. It will take place at the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden (29-19 24th Ave., Astoria). The party starts at 6:32 p.m., and the Purim schpiel and talent showcase begin at 7:30. Hamentaschen will be served, and alcohol will be available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged!
We will not be having an event on Purim; for some places where you can go to hear the megillah, please click here.

Community Meeting
Following discussions at our last community meeting, we'll be having a more in-depth meeting to discuss our vision for this group. This is a chance to chart the course of our group, and Jewish community life in Astoria, for the future. Rabbi Michael Friedman from Central Synagogue and at least one consultant will also be in attendance. Complimentary dinner will be served.
The meeting will take place on Sunday, January 22, from 5 to 9 p.m at my apartment in Astoria. Please RSVP to me (Michael: mcroland@gmail.com) by Friday, and then I'll let you know the address.

gala at the Angel Orensanz Foundation on Thursday, January 26, 7:30
pm, to raise money for their support and home visitation program of

Our community meetings are an opportunity to reflect on what's going well with our group and what can be improved. If you've been coming to our events and/or are looking to become more involved, then you're welcome to attend! The next community meeting will take place on Sunday, 12/4, at 4 p.m. Please e-mail Rabbi Mara Young (maraeyoung@gmail.com) for the address; she and her husband, Mark, will be hosting at their apartment in Astoria.
Please make an effort to be on time. A rabbi from a synagogue in Manhattan will be joining us toward the end of the meeting, and we want to have enough time to discuss everything before then.
