Hi, I would like to find out when there are volunteer opportunities posted on here.  Is there any way to get them sent my email, etc.?

Hi My name is Michelle and I am hosting an event at Mosaic this Wednesday for National Running Day to support a non profit after school program called Girls on the Run.

The idea is to come after a run or a workout and have a drink or two with other active Astorians! Mosaic will donate $1 for every drink purchased during the event and many local Astoria businesses have donated items for a raffle.

Here are the details: http://www.whyleaveastoria.com/events/national-running-day

I hope to see you at Mosaic on Wednesday!

Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) will be accepting non-perishable food item donations for people with autism and their families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Donations will be accepted at QSAC's Manhattan and Astoria offices:

253 W 35TH ST, 16TH FLOOR
8:30 TO 5
212-4-AUTISM X 2035

8:30 TO 5
718-7-AUTISM X 1263

Also, like many others throughout the region, our homes, schools, day habilitation centers, and offices have sustained damage during the hurricane including: downed trees, broken windows, plumbing issues, and flooding. If any of you are looking to help offset our storm-related repairs, please know that a donation of any size will help us to rebuild. If interested, contribute at http://www.qsac.com/donate
