Hi My name is Michelle and I am hosting an event at Mosaic this Wednesday for National Running Day to support a non profit after school program called Girls on the Run.

The idea is to come after a run or a workout and have a drink or two with other active Astorians! Mosaic will donate $1 for every drink purchased during the event and many local Astoria businesses have donated items for a raffle.

I want to volunteer on Thanksgiving Day, most of the organizations i am finding need help before.  Can anyone point me in the direction to give help on Thursday?

Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) will be accepting non-perishable food item donations for people with autism and their families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Donations will be accepted at QSAC's Manhattan and Astoria offices:

To help out storm victims in the Rockaways and Breezy Point area donate:

Blankets, shirts, socks, sweaters, jackets, sneakers
Non-Perishable Food (such as Canned Soup, Canned Food)

In Glendale:
The owner of The Shops at Atlas Park is teaming with the office of Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley to accept donations for victims of Hurricane Sandy through Sunday night.

Donations started Thursday, and will be collected at Atlas Park Mall in the old Borders next to Chili's from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through this Sunday.
