Update 4/22/10

In Astoria, we're barely memorable, most people don't really know who The Whiskey Dregs are regardless of the many readings and art exhibitions we've organized in the past. Yes, it's true we've reached into Manhattan where things are a little nosier but we'd like to retract back to Astoria since this is the community and home for many of our writers. We're now in the position to do so. Ironic but that was the point about going out to Manhattan -- come back with some friends.

Here's some news:

Black Ink in Pictures (our most recent event, which featured Stephen Elliott, Tony O'Neill, and David Henry Sterry among others.

Review of LCD Soundsystem's Latest

Interview With Goth Lolita, La Carmina

Pick of the Week: The Cure's Disintegration Re-Release

Interview with New Orleans Author, Louis Maistros

Much, much, much more here:

Also, keep an eye out on WLA for the latest info on Astoria Music and Arts fundraiser on May 22nd. We'll be there and it'll be a great time. We're fortunate to work with them.

We have a new site that handily defeated the original one in mortal combat. Take a gander: thewhiskeydregs.com

Hey, all. This is an open call for fiction writers for our November edition. We are currently selecting some pieces to be included in our upcoming book (TBD). Here's what we're looking for:

- Dark, edgy stories leaning toward mysticism, surreal, horror, sexuality. What we don't want is run-of-the-mill stuff.. Dark humor is acceptable. If you haven't been previously published, it's OK by us.

- 1000-3000 words.

- You can check out our works here: www.thewhiskeydregs.com

Thank you,

Carlos

October is Halloween month and we're looking for writers for the Whiskey Dregs Magazine. We have a ton of fun ideas. If you're interested in writing for us, please send me your email address and I'll send you a personal message of what topics are available. Doesn't matter what city, state, country, level of hell you're in. All are welcome.

We have an open call for horror creative non-fiction and fiction short stories.
