The 2nd Annual Western Queens Green Resources Fair and E-Waste Drop Off is just a few days away! The event is this Saturday, July 21 from 1pm to 5pm at the Broadway Library (40-20 Broadway).

Recycle your unwanted or broken electronics outside the Broadway Library, then head inside for the Green Resources Fair. Learn how you can live greener and save money while you save the environment. The Fair will include exhibitors from over two dozen local green organizations. There will be games, eco-crafts, and giveaways for the whole family (while supplies last).

Allyson, you need to have a sub license from the DOE and a file number so you can be requested through subcentral. Experience with children with autism is a plus but not a must.

Daniel, I know very little ASL. I only know basics that the kids would need. We use PECS with out kids if they are non verbal.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the new school year. I was wondering if anyone part of this group knows someone looking for a subbing position. I work at an all special ed school (part of district 75). We have a few sites throughout Queens. I am now at the site in LIC, which is for children with autism. We have elementary and middle school there. If you know someone who may be interested, please contact me. We need some good people :)

Today, the last day of school, a handful of teachers from a small unidentified school in Flushing, will be meeting at the Bohemian "Adult Soda" Garden at around 3:30pm. Look for a a group of tired 30-something year olds keeping hydrated...
