Does anyone know if you need a permit to play tennis at the Astoria Park Courts? I was there on Monday and played for a few hours without a permit and had no problems but I see a lot of people asking about it on here. Can someone confirm this for me? Also, if any beginners are looking to play and hit volley a bit id be down. Im free during the week all summer so im very flexible about times. Thanks!

I can do Friday if interested. My parents are in town but my schedule clears up a little on Friday. If interested, please suggest a time.

Hello,

I have three tennis rackets for sale in good condition. HEAD Prestige (Liquidmetal)(the red ones).  Inquire via email. Thanks. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Reviews/LMP/LMPReview.html

David, any interest in a [painfully] early weekly game (8 or 9 AM)? I'm 3.0

I agree Marcos! $200 is ridiculous and so is $15 to play one session. It should be half that or even free. People don't have to pay when they want to use the basketball courts!

I would absolutely love to play sometime. I'm probably an intermediate level now, because I haven't played much in the past 5 years. I'd love to try to play weekly this summer though, if anyone is interested.

People show up at the courts everyday w/o passes.  They're called spectators.

RE: Cost of passes: If I had people's organizing abilities I would try to create a groundswelling of tennis players showing up en masse at courts without passes. Good old civil disobedience. Perhaps we could get it ready for next year. At the very least we should start an e-mail/letter campaign towards the Parks Department.
