Happy craft beer week everyone! Anyone doing anything fun? It would have been cool to do a craft beer crawl :)

Hi, Jon. We have every intention to meet regularly and talk shop. That's awesome that you're building a keezer! You can join the group page here: http://www.whyleaveastoria.com/group/homebrewers. My husband and I just met with Ryan last night over at Sweet Afton. Had a really nice time just getting to know each other. We'll all be meeting up again at Sunswick next week - Thursday, Jan 20 - for the east v. west competition. Beermenus.com has a deal for the event. Hope to see you (and others) then!

Cheers!

I'll try and make it out tonight with friends... where is the homebrewing group for Astoria and do you guys actually meet up? I am building a keezer (chest freezer to be delivered on sat!) so I can start making lagers.

MexiQ is on 30th Ave and 37th Street. The Sunswick event is actually next week. Besides my husband and I, Ryan and his fiancee, and a few other people from the homebrewers group.

Should be a good time.

Yeah? I've never been. Where's it located? I do not hang out in Astoria enough (which is why I joined WLA). I may not be able to make Sunswick tonight ... but who all is going?

I stopped by MexiQ last night with my husband and Ryan from the Astoria Homebrewers group. They've got a really respectable selection and delicious food. The food is on the expensive side but the fact you can fill up a growler of Koningshoven for $40 is pretty incredible. I am definitely a fan of MexiQ.

I actually found out about the place on BeerMenus - I think they've been on there since the beginning, although maybe went off for a bit?  The only thing worth going there for is an Oskar Blues Gordon.  Otherwise, meh.  MexiQ has some decent brews on tap if you wanted some good food to go with it.
