Go to some events, of course! Also check out the groups on WLA, lots of special interests for everyone. We're having our monthly dinner + movie night tonight that should be a good opportunity to make some new friends. Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood!

Well, you found the right site that's for starters :) Welcome to the neighborhood. It's hard not to make new friends in Astoria if you start joining some of the groups and and attend the events through WLA?! If you don't find events or groups that are of interest to you, the beauty is that you can start your own group and suggest events through the site too.

I agree with Laura..once you start going out its really hard NOT to make friends. Check out some bars near you're apartment and start from there, you guys will be fine. Welcome!
