Erica told us about GiGi. altho Hina's no longer there, we found someone who did a fantastic job cuting and coloring. at or about u$125. looks great.

It's hard to find a good hairdresser, but there's a new spot on 28th st & 34th ave. they r young new and cool... ego haircuts sorry don't have their phone # open 10am-9pm...

I go to Asia at Lift Hair Studio on 24th Ave, a few blocks from the Beer Garden. She's extremely good with color and highlights (I got a better job from Asia than I did at Vidal Sassoon, paying half the price). She does a decent cut as well, enough that when I can't afford a haircut regularly, when it grows out it keeps the layering and shaping. You can also get free mimosas, wine, and tea and sometimes cheese as well, and the occasionally complimentary beauty supply.

Primp & Tease Salon!!!!! I highly recommend it!!!!! They're one of the best in LIC. The salon is located at 5-02A 50th Ave, one block from the Vernon/Jackson stop of the 7 line, between Vernon Blvd. and 5th St. Call them at (718) 472-2001 and ask for LACEY. She's amazing! You won't be disappointed, i swear to you!!!!

Hey I just saw this. I highly recomend a girl by the name of Selvi. She works at the Saloon on 30th ave. I have been seeing her for years. I have recruited some friends to her who travel TO ASTORIA just to see her. One of my friends moved to BK from Astoria and still swears by Selvi and takes the train there. She also works with a great colorist who is also an artist who really approaches her hair coloring as such. Selvi has studied under William Tricomi, who is one of the most buzzed about hair stylists in NYC. She really really knows her stuff. The Saloon is also a really cute salon. If you see her tell her Jessie (the clothing designer girl) sent you! Also I wanted to add that this isnt a girl who just got her cosmotolegy license. Selvi is very well trained in all hair textures and it shows. My daughter is bi racial (Im Irish/German and her dad is Jamaican) and has spiral curls. Selvi mastered cutting her hair so it doesnt look like a lampshade.
