Why Leave Astoria?!

Every time I try to get my hair cut in Astoria, I regret it. Right now, I travel to the Beehive in Williamsburg, but I'd love to find someone local.

Any suggestions would be vastly appreciated. Thanks!

I go to Lindsay at GiGi's on 30th Ave. btwn 34th and 35th. She's great. She's young, she listens and I've never walked out of there disappointed. It's an Aveda salon so the products are great as well.

I go to Litsa at Giorgios on Steinway and 30th. She handles my curly hair very well, and fixes whatever odd thing I have done to my head with no snarky remark or anything.

I've used Litsa a couple of times when my gal is away!! She's fantastic (incase anyone needs a second opinion) :-)

I highly recommend Nicole at Space salon on Ditmars. She's been cutting my hair for years now, and I'm always happy. You can tell her Wendy the dog trainer referred you. :)

Thank you for your replies! I no longer have to travel to Williamsburg. This could change my entire life :)

I go to Antoinette at Saloon and she's great. Very thorough and always gives me a wonderful cut. She was referred to me by a friend I also referred another friend and we all love her. http://www.saloonhaircolor.com/

I just went to Gigi Salon this past weekend and I love my new haircut. Hina was my stylist and she was great. She dried my hair straight, and it's naturally curly. She was kind enough to say I could come back once I washed my hair and it was curly again, to see if it still worked. She said she'd fix it free of charge if I wasn't happy. Good news is- I did not have to go back. Another bonus is that they give a good head message when they wash your hair. Gigi Salon-Hina-check it out!

I dig on Athena @ Studio 31. Me and Mary both go there and love her to pieces.

Go to Nikki at the Buvette salon on 37th and Ditmars!! She's amazing and you can tell her that Nikki sent you!

I went to Athena at Studio 31 last summer and liked my haircut (paid $45), but didn't like the fact that she didn't take credit cards and that I had to wait 45 minutes after I got there (yes, I had an appointment already). I recently had a haircut with Hina at Gigi's ($40) and really liked what came out. I had to go to Gigi's after a woman at Giorgio's totally butchered my hair and didn't listen to what I wanted at all ($20). Hina fixed it up, not exactly to what I would have wanted, but it is a great cut and is now, a week later growing into what I wanted in the first place. I've been getting compliments on my hair ever since I got it cut. I don't like the attitude at Gigi's, but I did like Hina and will probably go back to her.

I have lived in Asoria for way over 12 yrs. and have ALWAYS gone to Georgio's on Steinway Street.
If you are able to explain what you want(sometimes a pic helps) it won't fail.
Cuts usually(mine is short) run 'round $15.00 w\o tax.
I have never gone anywhere else & have been tempted to. I don't have a "regular hair dresser" so I usually just walk in & ask for a cut. Usually during the week is less busier.

I also have to go with GiGi's. I see Edyta. She does my cut and highlights and they always look superb, although not the cheapest in the world. I'm sure a cut alone would be very reasonable, though!
