Why Leave Astoria?!

Ok, so I decided to start a new thread now that all the details are together and we have a date!

The goal for this workshop is to move you forward in your pursuit of photography. I understand the feeling of not knowing where to go or what to do next. I've been there. We all have. So we're really going to target those questions over the course workshop as well as teach you as much as possible about planning, shooting on location, composition, lighting, post production and whatever else we can cover.

Saturday April 3rd 2010 . 12pm - 4pm'ish

Location: Astoria, Queens New York

This list is rough. These are things we'll definitely cover but hopefully more throughout the day.

Pre-Production - We will talk about locations, setups, gear and what is needed to be planned before the shoot.

Location Scouting - What to look for in a location.

Composition - We will talk about how to position your subjects, poses and background composition.

Shooting in Natural Light - You will learn how to properly shoot in natural light, how to meter and understand how light affects your image.

Shooting with Strobes (studio lighting) on location - You will learn how to setup and shoot correctly with studio lighting on location.

Light modifiers - You will learn how different light modifiers affect your image and you will learn how and when to use them.

Chris Gardner Live On-Location Shoot with subject - I will show you a photo shoot from start to finish.

Split into groups for On-Location Shoot with each other - Using the techniques you had just learned, you will practice them on each other in groups

Group Critique Session - Here we will review the images you have just taken and have a general Q&A.

Bump, 8 places left. be quick!
Due to the economic climate, we have only had around 50% of the number of signups that we expected.
So to ensure we can fill the workshop and make it cost effective for everyone involved, we have moved the workshop to Saturday May 22nd 2010.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone, however I am sure you will see it will be well worth the wait!

Tell your friends and spread the word!

See you all there!
VERY good to know.
