






The goal for this workshop is to move you forward in your pursuit of photography. I understand the feeling of not knowing where to go or what to do next. I've been there. We all have. So we're really going to target those questions over the course workshop as well as teach you as much as possible about planning, shooting on location, composition, lighting, post production and whatever else we can cover.
Location: Astoria, Queens New York
This list is rough. These are things we'll definitely cover but hopefully more throughout the day.
Pre-Production - We will talk about locations, setups, gear and what is needed to be planned before the shoot.
Location Scouting - What to look for in a location.
Composition - We will talk about how to position your subjects, poses and background composition.
Shooting in Natural Light - You will learn how to properly shoot in natural light, how to meter and understand how light affects your image.
Shooting with Strobes (studio lighting) on location - You will learn how to setup and shoot correctly with studio lighting on location.
Light modifiers - You will learn how different light modifiers affect your image and you will learn how and when to use them.
Chris Gardner Live On-Location Shoot with subject - I will show you a photo shoot from start to finish.
Split into groups for On-Location Shoot with each other - Using the techniques you had just learned, you will practice them on each other in groups
Group Critique Session - Here we will review the images you have just taken and have a general Q&A.
Post Production - You will learn how to use Photoshop to process your images, including: Color correction, contrast, dodge & burn, masking and other techniques to improve your shots.
