Hi there,
I'm new to the neighborhood and to WLA, but I'm hoping this might be a good forum!
My parents are coming to visit in a few months, and are wanting to stay in a B&B (or hotel) walking distance to me at the Broadway stop. I had found an awesome network of B&Bs in Brooklyn, and thought maybe there might be something similar here in Astoria? Anyone know of anything? Or can you recommend a decent place to put some parents for the weekend? I'm afraid my couch doesn't quite cut it for them. :)
I appreciate any recommendations, thanks!
best,
Shannon

Permalink Reply by Ran Craycraft on March 8, 2012 at 10:05am I don't believe there are any in Western Queens, but I would love to see the a B&B pop-up in Astoria, for the record.
I think the closest hotel is probably the one on Astoria Blvd around 46th St....it's a chain, although I can't remember which one! There are a few in LIC near Queensboro Plaza too. Neither really in walking distance, but probably the closest options.
Permalink Reply by Ran Craycraft on March 8, 2012 at 10:28am I think that's a Marriott. Z Hotel is really hot, but DEFINITELY isn't walkable. The Holiday Inn is (surprisingly cozy and) a tiny bit closer (and more affordable), but also isn't walkable.

these two rooms are rented by a friend of mine, so of course i'm a bit biased, but the apartment really is gorgeous. it's in woodside, and very close to the 7 train and LIRR.

Have stayed there and it was good.
