By virtue of being on higher ground, The Queens Kickshaw has been spared from Hurricane Sandy's devastating effects. Our business has benefited greatly from increased patronage this week, and we thank everyone for their support.
We would like to give back some of the luck and good will that has come our way by hosting a fundraiser all day Thursday, Nov. 8 (7:30am-1am).
Some Queens and NY-based vendors have graciously donated kegs of their product for this event. 100% of the proceeds of Beyond Kombucha's Mava Roka will go directly to Red Hook Recovers, while 100% of the proceeds of Kelso Beer, Rockaway Brewing, and Paumanok Festival Chardonnay on draught will go directly to Occupy Sandy. Profits from the sales of everything else will go directly to the American Red Cross.
Join us from 8-10pm for live music as well, as the benefit continues into the night:
8pm - No Biggity
9pm - Brian Adler's Helium
If you can't make it on Thursday but would still like to be involved, check out Astoria Recovers.
More info on the day's sponsors:
* Beyond Kombucha (Astoria, NY)
* KelSo Beer (Brooklyn, NY)
* Paumanok Vineyards (Long Island, NY)
* Rockaway Brewing (LIC, NY) suffered damage from Hurricane Sandy, but their crews have been volunteering in the Rockaways this past week.
Whether you're a lover of coffee, cheese, beer, cider, kombucha, or wine, come by to show your support for fellow New Yorkers in need.
**PLEASE NOTE, our kitchen will be open from 9am-1am.**
