Shine or rain.

You probably already bought Dad a crappy tie, so the least you could do is bring him to kickball. Our third straight year of a free, fun, and relaxed afternoon in the park is on. You may be the black hole in the outfield or you may completely miss the ball when kicking; we don't care. Come on down for a few hours in the sun and a great way to meet your neighbours.

Astoria Kickball takes place in the North Meadow under the Hellgate Bridge. Look for the people playing kickball or the viking-looking fella with a kickball. If you can't make it right at 2, no worries; you can join the game at any time!

Afterward we haul our sweaty bodies and war stories off to Hellgate Social (1221 Astoria Blvd.) for all-you-can-eat barbecue, reduced to $8 for all kickballers. Stay a little longer for the summer movie series in the courtyard.
