Dish du Jour Magazine will be hosting the first ever Best Meatballs of the Boroughs contest at its 8th Annual Cuisine of Queens & Beyond 2009 Food and Wine Tasting on Tuesday, May 19th, from 6pm - 9 pm at the Astoria World Manor, 25-22 Astoria Blvd., Astoria, NY.
This year's tasting event will feature over 50 tasting tables where attendees will have the opportunity to sample savory bites, luscious desserts, new wines, great craft beers and additional surprises, including the opportunity to sample finalists' meatballs.
Taste for yourself and see if you agree with our panel of celebrity judges including: Tony Tantillo, CBS2 HD Food Expert, Frank Pellegrino, actor/co-owner of Rao's Restaurant, Michael Psilikas, executive chef and co-owner of Kefi, Anthos and Mia Dona restaurants, Michael Maroni, owner of Maroni Cuisine and winner of the Food Network's meatball throwdown with Bobby Flay and Joseph Risi, co-creator of the meatball contest. Josh Ozersky, senior food editor for Citysearch's new blog, The Feedbag, will act as emcee of the meatball contest. The contest is open to restaurants serving meatballs from all ethnicities located in NY's five boroughs.
